The start - Investing in Sri Lankas Stock Market - 27th March 2026

 




Everybody tells you to invest money or start saving, but no one really explains how to actually do it.

I don’t fully know either. That’s why this is (hopefully) the start of a blog series documenting how my investing journey goes.

I came across someone on Facebook. Normally, I wouldn’t recommend reaching out to people like that, but he seemed legit, posting consistent content and building a good reputation.

The broker he suggested was unfamiliar to me. Before that, I tried opening an account with Softlogic Brokers, but after 3 months of back-and-forth, they kept declining my application for unclear reasons.

So I reached out to him. He recommended Senfin Securities instead. I decided to trust it this time — and surprisingly, they got my account set up in just 3 days. Within a week, I was ready to start investing.

I waited for my salary, funded the account with 100k as buying power, and made my first moves on 26.03.2026.
